27 people, such as the wife of Cameroon's Vice PM Amadou Ali, 10
Chinese nationals and others have been taken hostage by Boko Haram men
between May and July this season have now been released. Their release
was made known in a statement released today by Cameroon's Minister of
Information, Issa Bakary
"The 27 hostages kidnapped on May 16 2014 at Waza and on July 27th
at Kolofata were given this night to Cameroonian authorities. Ten
Chinese, the wife of the Vice Prime Minister, Amadou Ali, the Lamido of
Kolofata, and members of their families kidnapped with them are safe"
the statement read in part
It didn't state whether their release was
made possible through negotiations or if it was a voluntary act by the sect
members
