Affirming the scene, a security source in Kaduna told a reporter of SaharaReporters that the conflict happened in the town of Gidan Waya close to Kafanchan in the disturbed southern Kaduna zone of Kaduna State.

“We received a coded message about a clash between soldiers and some of the local residents,” said the source. He added: “The clash resulted in a few deaths. However, we are yet to confirm the cause of the fight and the actual number of casualty.”

Our reporter attempted to get in touch with Colonel Sani Usman, a representative of Nigerian Army, for further detail, yet we were not able to get him at the time of this report.
