Shocking! APC Praises Gov. Wike

Opposition party in Rivers state, the All Progressives Congress (APC) has applauded the state governor, Nyesom Wike, for the completion of some projects started by the immediate past administration in the state.

The state APC chairman, Davies Ikanya, who was represented by Mr Chris Fynebone, APC’s state publicity secretary, at a forum on Wike’s 100 days in office stated this.

“Those projects of a truth were not abandoned but left in line with the belief that government is a continuum. So, completing the projects are imperative for the progress of the state,” Ikanya reportedly said.
He noted that the Amaechi administration didn’t not abandon the projects but due to shortfall in revenue, it had to prioritize projects.

The Rivers chairman of Trade Union Congress (TUC) Mr Chika Onuegbu equally commended Wike for making roads motorable again.
He however noted that crime rate, especially kidnapping was on the increase, and said it was capable of stalling investment in the state. He therefor advised the government to design a blueprint for economic prosperity of the state with the aim of creating wealth and jobs and well as tackling crime.
Recall that PDP in Rivers state has replied to the Rotimi Amaechi, former state governor, suit against the party. Amaechi had sued the PDP, its chairman and two others over claims that he (Amaechi) misappropriated $758m (N80bn) belonging to the state while in office.
