Sir Tony Nammor: We Must Restructure and Re-organize Nigeria

Sir Tony Nammor is one prominent Nigerian politician and analyst; who besides being a Senatorial candidate has featured in most discussions and presentations relating to Socio-Political and economic affairs on both state and national levels in Nigeria. On this occassion; he shares his views on the state of the nation ; The expectations of the new president and the issues bordering around the arrest and detention of the pro biafran radion czar.
I have always emphasized that TRUTH shall be the only conscience that would heal Nigeria to set the pace for the nation’s effective development and growth. RESTRUCTURING and RE ORGANIZATION are the two main panacial at resolving Nigeria daunting problems for the nation is broken.

"...It has never been about the masses; will not change overnight nor do they have the conscience to think Nigeria through.........All the meetings are simply not in saving the nation per se but their own interests and statusquo “.........QED.
How do we effect CHANGE in the positive to affect the life and welfare of the average Nigerian, if corruption is one of the major clog in the wheel ?...Simply DISMANTLE CORRUPTION.
(1) PRESIDENT M. BUHARI : PMB has been given a mandate by the people and he presently enjoys the good-will of a simple majority of Nigerians cut across; who are in daring need for a positive change. He and his team have promised to effect change in a positive way and tops ; is the fight against corruption and corrupt practices. On this same pedestal or doctrine is why majority of Nigerians voted for him and believe in his integrity to help restore some level of sanity and sanctity to the nation BUT he must be very careful............If he compromises or deviates from the principal clause which brought him into governance; he fail .QED. Failure would not be because he did not try but because he compromised ...........The insignia flashing on his head is that of INTEGRITY" ...the cabals are all out for a fight / war and he must not allow sentiments nor partisanship to play out. Within his immediate environment shall be many who will pressurize him but he must not break that code / principle.............They want to eat up that insignia and by so doing; reduce him, his integrity ...then rubbish him. It has started already......

SOLUTION : He should focus on RESTRUCTURING Nigeria and vigorously fight against CORRUPTION without compromise nor sentiments........No scape goat ; No sacred cows. Once he looses the first litmus test on corruption; he would find it difficult to regain traction and the peoples goodwill for him will start to dwindle. He would succeed more by engaging corruption and balancing the nation with a sound team of heads cut across the nation.
NIGERIA needs RESTRUCTURING and ORGANIZATION. That is the ultimate...........solution
“KANU, BIAFRA AND NIGERIA : "..........................
" Keep him detained and continue to see and watch his ovation and approval grow ; KILL him and see him martyred by his people "............You may have just given him what he desires by arresting him...PERIOD.

a.....NWAZURIKE ; is simply petty and acting like a loser and seems to have compromised. He should not have out-rightly denounced KANU if ultimately they are all fighting for the same cause. When the house is divided; it cannot stand and that crack would eventually bring it down.....Nwazurike's pettiness beclouds the bigger picture and betrays his conscience on the agitation. It is like saying ; when did this small boy come into the picture and i can not completely blame him as he did not seem to get an overwhelming support of key members of Ojukwu's family either...So the line has been drawn from on-set. The bigger picture should have been key and not division as it has always been the case with the Igbos in Nigeria......

b. ....Majority of the South Eastern governors are losers.......Selfish, greedy and quite petty. They do not represent their people and have not helped to BUILD the EASTERN REGION. They all need to bow their selfish heads in shame. You cannot simply be caught in the middle........You either join NIGERIA to build your regions as in each state and make necessary provisions for your people to make them happy or simply show by protest the seclusion of the eastern region as agitated by your people whom you serve. You cannot totally write off BIAFRA and at same time not giving them the benefits of a democratic Nigeria.......What have you done with the collective money that comes to the EAST every year ? How much have you tapped into your various states resources to harness both human and natural resources in providing for your people.......?
,
c........The EASTERNERS also need to ask themselves how much have they asked their governors and representatives for stewardship ? What stops them from BUILDING the east ........REGIONAL BLOCK ? If you develop your region ; Nigeria will seek you and not you trying to leave. It is a well known fact that the Eastern region can fortify and build to become a major economic base of Nigeria and rather than spreading out ; it is best to return back to the east to collectively build the region.......If you build the region and open up channels and network.............The east would be more valuable, viable and profitable to both her people and the nation in general.

d......KANU was out-rightly out of line to have solicited arms at the WIC; it shows a deep side of naivety in him. The moment you take up arms against state; it is considered treason and you have opened yourself / group up for indictment. His cause is no different from many who have genuinely agitated for their people. There was something Ojukwu saw in 1965 that did not orgor well but that was then and this is now. Nigeria will not go to war because of any region and a call to war is jejune and misplaced.......Anyone who understands the implication of WAR would never wish it upon his / her people least to say a nation. The key would be to continue within the sphere of diplomacy and dialogue and using other positive medium to express.

e........Nigeria cannot continue to ignore or foreclose on any group if TRUTH to reality she seeks a UNIFIED NATION. It is about time Nigeria govt read the hand writing on the wall.........You cannot use old ways to resolve new problems. Neither can any govt ignore any region that's crying out....The true essence of govt in a democracy is to try to be a good listener and attend to the peoples cry no matter which region . The fundamentals in any democratic settings is to try to balance deliveries of dividends of democracy to spread across the nation. No state should be deprived neither should any tribe or groups be left out. Nigeria must move away from the pogrom of 1966; to realize where there is in-balances in her government. Example; it is too obvious that the owners of Nigeria have agreed never to allow any easterner be President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.........Only a selfish and inconsiderate person would not see and acknowledge this fact in view of our history. That needs to be corrected if ALL INCLUSIVE is the mantra. It is a choice to either balance it or simply return to TRUE FEDERALISM

f........If Kanu is being sponsored by politicians or persons with inordinate reasons and his cause is not genuine; he would not only fail but be disgraced as well. You cannot fool your people neither can you fool a nation . Like i have said; your cause must be genuine or the people will see it and just as no region can go against the entire country for every region needs the other to succeed.
...............KANU as a Nigerian sees the defectiveness , just like most persons from the South East do too. I have also noticed that many from other tribes or ethnic groups also have similar feelings about Nigeria in a more generalized way and that is the fact that NIGERIA IS NOT WORKING as she should .....at least not for the citizens. PAIN AND SUFFERING of the masses is insurmountable. Rather than FIX....Successive government continue to pay lip service and patronize the people.
They forget that the child born in 1979 is today 36yrs old ; that born in 1999 is already 16yrs and so on..............The clock does not stop ticking; neither would the evolution of the people within the nation. They see everything and would generally continue to agitate ........
I do not subscribe to a DIVIDED NIGERIA and would continue to advocate a UNITED NIGERIA; for the nation has more to gain in UNITY than divided. The 3 major regions of the Federation cannot possibly disintegrate without cause ; likewise she must co-exist with positive purpose, reason and cause.

It is very obvious that NIGERIA has not HEALED from the 1966-70 civil war and the pains of the pogrom still exists within us as a people and nation. Rather than BUILD; our successive governments and administrators simply fed for self ; ignoring the most fundamental aspect of the nation......BUILDING A PURPOSEFUL NATION IN COLLECTIVISM.
What is our COLLECTIVE purpose as a PEOPLE and NATION ? Until questions like this are properly answered; the experiment would be a continuum and agitations would simply continue too
The efforts have not been focused on BUILDING a nation for the people; neither has it been for the welfare and care of her citizenry.

The divides linger ; while the denials makes a mockery of the entire process. We are operating a Federal system that is deficient in a lot of things; a voodoo democracy being driven by greed, selfishness and corruption. Majority of the drivers have erred against state and citizens; non- seem to working in unison to give the nation that resounding feeling of collectivism.
IF WE cannot fix the problems; why not seek solutions ? If the nation is so bitter along tribal lines whereby you can simply feel the synergy of bitterness and tribalism along ethnic lines; why are we flogging the issue ? The key is to see administration BALANCE the displaced structure and put in place a road map that will show her intent to REVAMP / BUILD the nation in her collective.........
A UNITED Nigeria is what majority want and all this agitations is simply because the nation is broken and faulty along those lines and needs leaders that would speak truth to terms and not patronizing. NIGERIA WILL NOT BREAK if everyone plays their role positively.
