Kaduna APC To Suspend Shehu Sani

All Progressives Congress, APC Kaduna Chapter, appears to have concluded plans to suspend the Senator representing Kaduna Central, Shehu Sani from the party over the unresolved rift between him and Kaduna Governor, Malam Nasir El-Rufai .

The party had Wednesday sent a letter to Senator Shehu Sani inviting him to appear within seven days before a disciplinary committee set up by acting Chairman, Shuaibu Idris to clear himself over what the party termed “Anti Party Stand” of the senator.

Speaking at a conference Tuesday, Kaduna APC Spokesman, Salisu Tanko Wusono expressed displeasure that the Senator refused to accept the letter.

He urged Senator Sani to appear before the committee within the stipulated seven days or face the wrath of the party.

Sani’s senior assistant, Political and Ideology, Comrade Suleiman Ahmed said the letter was rejected on grounds that the senator neither knows the person who signed the letter nor party office address.

“If the address of the party office in Kaduna he knew has been changed, Senator Shehu Sani was supposed to be informed, in the same vein if the acting chairman was appointed, he should have been notified,” Ahmed said.

Sani maintained that because he was not notified about the APC new state chairman and secretary, he would not respond to their invitation. He also believed the two officers are mere extensions of government house and accused El-Rufai of sponsoring them to suspend him out of fear of his overwhelming popularity and performance .

“From now till 2019, Senator Shehu Sani will continue to challenge any El-Rufai policy suspected or adjudged to be anti masses,” Suleiman Ahmed said.

When contacted via phone to speak on the matter, Senator Shehu, who is the Chairman, Senate Committee on Foreign and local debts, said his invitation was just a cooked plan to smear his good name.

“It is obvious that some persons within corridors of power have hands in this purported invitation,” Sani maintained.
