Syrian Air Force Crushes 1300 Terrorist Targets in Last 2 Weeks

According to a military spokesman, the Syrian Air Force has carried out 364 sorties in the last two weeks, striking 1,300 terrorist targets across four provinces.

According to air force spokesman Brigadier General Ali Mayhoub, the Syrian Arab Air Force has destroyed three terrorist command posts operated by Daesh, also known as ISIL/the Islamic State, in areas around Aleppo and Palmyra. Strikes also targeted three columns of vehicles in Homs province, which took out a number of militants and weapons caches.

Weapons depots and logistics facilities were also destroyed.

These strikes occurred between November 27 and December 10, and "led to the destruction of terrorist gangs, fortifications and command posts," Mayhoub said during a briefing, according to RIA Novosti.

On Wednesday, the Russian Defense Ministry announced that its bombers had also carried out 82 sorties in a 24-hour period.

"In the last 24 hours, Russian jets conducted 82 sorties against 204 terrorist targets in Syria, located in the provinces of Aleppo, Idlib, Latakia, Hama, and Homs," ministry spokesman Maj. Gen. Igor Konashenkov said, according to RIA Novosit. "Futhermore, 32 of the sorties were conducted at night."

Russia has conducted an aerial campaign alongside the Syrian government since September 30, as part of a joint effort to combat Daesh.
