45 Nigerians Bag Uk’s Chevening Scholarships

The British Government has granted scholarship to 45 Nigerians to study strategic postgraduate courses in different universities in the United Kingdom for one year.

The successful Nigerians, who were picked for the all-expenses-paid programme under the British Chevening Scholarship, were treated to a pre-departure reception by the Acting British High Commissioner to Nigeria, Mr. Simon Shercliff in Abuja.

Buhari Dissociates Himself From Campaign Promises

President Muhammadu Buhari on Friday disowned two of his campaign documents containing promises on what he would do in his first 100 days in office.

A statement from his Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Mallam Garba Shehu titled: “Understanding Buhari in 100 days” pointedly disowned two campaign documents which he said emanated from some of party’s “so many centres of public communication which, for whatever reason, were on the loose.”

The verdict in a retrial was issued against Mohamed Fahmy, a naturalized Canadian who has given up his Egyptian citizenship, Baher Mohamed, an Egyptian, and Australian Peter Greste, who was deported in February and sentenced in absentia.
