US and others will assist Nigeria recover stolen funds - Buhari

President Muhammadu Buhari on Tuesday said his administration had received firm assurance from the United States and other countries recover and return funds stolen from Nigeria.

According to a statement by the President's Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Mr. Femi Adesina, the President said it was now up to Nigeria to provide the international community with the facts and figures needed to drive the recovery effort.

Mugabe Slams Buhari At African Union Summit

Nigeria’s president, Muhammadu Buhari came under a severe attack by president Robert Mugabe, at the ongoing African Union summit in South Africa.

The Zimbabwean president slammed Nigeria and South Africa for their respective roles in voting the UN Security Council Resolution 1973 in 2011, which authorised military action against the regime of Libyan Muammar Gaddafi.

We will declare our assets after they have been verified - Buhari

President Buhari says he and his vice, Osinbajo, will declare their assets publicly after the Code Of Conduct Bureau does its verification on the asset declaration form they submitted on May 28th. The new President gave this assurance in a statement released today by his media aide, Shehu Garba. In the statement, President Buhari said he hopes that the verification will be conducted within their 100 days in office.

Military capable of defeating B’Haram – Buhari


President Muhammadu Buhari said on Wednesday that he had absolute confidence in the ability of the Nigerian military to bring to an end the insurgency spearheaded by members of the Boko Haram sect.

President Buhari reportedly considers Fashola, Fayemi for position of Chief of Staff

 According to multiple reports, President Buhari is considering naming former Lagos Governor, Babatunde Fashola or former Ekiti state governor Kayode Fayemi as his Chief of Staff. Abubakar Mamu is also being considered for the position. Buhari, NSA meet over Boko Haram …President to visit Niger, Chad

President Muhammadu Buhari on Monday held a closed door meeting with the National Security Adviser, Col. Sambo Dasuki (retd.).

It was learnt that the meeting, which held at the Defence House, Abuja, was aimed at assessing the security situation in the country, against the backdrop of renewed attacks by the Boko Haram sect.

Impeachment: Fayose, PDP beg Buhari to intervene

Tension rose again in Ado Ekiti, Ekiti State, on Monday as supporters of the state Governor, Ayodele Fayose, and some Peoples Democratic Party members laid   siege to the state House of Assembly in Ado Ekiti .

Their action was to prevent the 19 All Progressives Congress lawmakers from gaining entry to the assembly to actualise their move to impeach Fayose. While the siege lasted, the national leadership of the PDP and Fayose urged President Muhammadu Buhari to intervene in the matter.

President Muhammadu Buhari names Adesina, Shehu as spokesmen

President Muhammadu Buhari on Sunday named the President of the Nigeria Guild of Editors, Mr. Femi Adesina; and the Director, Media and Publicity of the All Progressives Congress Presidential Campaign Council, Mallam Garba Shehu, as representatives. Adesina-Shehu-360x240
While Adesina will serve as the Special Adviser to the President (Media and Publicity), Shehu will be the new Senior Special Assistant (Media and Publicity).

Buhari’s asset declaration

President Muhammadu Buhari and his deputy, Prof Yemi Osinbajo, have both done well by declaring their assets as required by law.

What Buhari and Osinbajo did, however, only satisfied the minimum requirement. This is not a minimum requirement government; we did not clamour for the minimum. The General and Prof made a promise of publicly declaring their assets; as far as I am concerned, they have not fully done so, and it is not too late.

President Buhari, Vice P. Osinbajo declare assets

President Buhari and Vice President Yemi Osinbajo have announced their assets as indicated by the dictates of the Nigerian constitution. buhari_1
As per an announcement from the Head of the Buhari Media Team, Garba Shehu today May 30th, President Buhari and VP Osinbajo announced their assets on May 28th, a day prior to their initiation and swearing in.

Here’s How Much President Buhari & Vice P. Osinbajo Will Earn Annually


Nigeria’s new president, Muhammadu Buhari, and his deputy, Yemi Osinbajo, will earn annual basic salaries of N3, 514, 705 and N3, 031, 572.50 respectively, according to the information on the website of the Revenue Mobilization Allocation and Fiscal Commission.

Apart from the salaries, the president is entitled to various regular allowances like: Hardship, 50 per cent of the basic salary – N1, 757, 350.50; consistency – 250 per cent, N8, 786, 762.50.
