Oyo State Stops Payment Of WAEC Fees


OYO State government has stopped further payment of West African Examinations Council (WAEC) registration fees of students in public schools in the state, commencing from the 2015/2016 academic session in September.

The government alluded the poor financial status of the state government and lackadaisical attitude of parents and students to promotion of quality education as reason for the decision.

Police Uncovers Goat Thieves In Delta, Recovers Arms (photo)


The Police authorities in Delta state last Monday bursted a criminal syndicate that specialized in stealing goats from the communities and selling them to restaurants and hotel operators in the big cities.

The Command Public Relations Officer, DSP Celestina Kalu said in a statement Wednesday in Asaba, that three members of the syndicate fled and abandoned their loot during a stop and search operation by the police recently.

Jungle Justice: 2 Okada Snatchers Nabbed, Beaten To Death And Set Ablaze In Abuja (Graphic Pic)

Jungle justice was meted out to two suspected motorcycle snatchers by a mob at Mararaba near Abuja recently.

City News learnt that one of the suspected thieves was set ablaze around Sharp Corner, near the Abuja - Keffi expressway, while the other was beaten to death with dangerous objects in Kabayi area.
The two men believed to be in their 30s, were said to be members of a notorious gang that specialised in snatching commercial motorcycles popularly called okada.

President Muhammadu Buhari appointed Dr. Emmanuel Ibe Kachikwu, the Executive Vice Chairman/General Counsel of ExxonMobil (Africa), as Group Managing Director (GMD), asking him to give recovery of stolen oil money a priority, among other targets.

The school was set up to provide quality education for children who lost their parents/guardians in various Boko Haram attacks. The school runs with a full curriculum as other schools. Soldier who fled from insurgents in Borno arrested over Robbery in Rivers

The Police Command in Rivers State says it has arrested one Elijah Owoh, an army Private, who was said to have absconded from his duty post in Biu, Borno State, for alleged armed robbery.

The Commissioner of Police in the state, Mr Chris Ezike, while parading nine other suspects before newsmen, on Monday, said the soldier shot and killed a male victim during a robbery operation.
“Owoh, during investigation, confessed his involvement in a robbery incident in which a male victim was murdered around Eneka Farm Road in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.

Photos: Kidnappers, female child traffickers paraded in Rivers state



The Rivers state police command paraded a number of male and female criminals involved in kidnapping, robbery and killing of their victims in the state.

Speaking at the press briefing, the state police commissioner, Chris Ezike said three of the criminals paraded, Kelvin Ogbulaon aged 22, Chiwendu Akani aged 20 and Nelson Kacaranmoh aged 23 on July 7th kidnapped one Friday Ozogo around Elekahia area in the state. For reasons yet unknown, the men killed their victim and hastily buried him in a shallow grave around Choba waterfront.

Customs' thugs mistakenly kill innocent trader over 'settlement'


On Friday, July 10,a  28 year old trader Kabiru Mohammed, was said to be dealing in second-hand shoes and was returning from the Seme area in his car at about 5am.was when he was stopped at a checkpoint manned by customs officials around the Federal Government College area in Ijanikin.

It was gathered that after the inspection by the NCS officials, Mohammed was told he could leave.

Peter Obi & Jonathan Brought Boko Haram Prisoners To Anambra Not Me – Obiano

Governor Willie Obiano of Anambra State, Thursday, said the transfer of Boko Haram prisoners to Ekwulobia prisons in Aguata Local Government Area of Anambra State, was concluded in 2012 under former President Goodluck Jonathan administration.

The governor, who spoke through his Senior Special adviser on Political Matters, Mr. Chinedu Obidigwe, said the decision was taken during a seminar organized for officers and men of the Nigeria Prison Service, NPS, in which Ekwulobia and Kuje prisons in Anambra and Abuja capital territory respectively, were chosen as prisons for the Boko Haram inmates.

The president of Nigeria has started tracing Nigeria’s looted funds to foreign countries. Buhari who says he inherited an almost empty treasury from the past Goodluck Jnathan’s administration as started tracing the loots to countries such as United States, United States, Switzerland, the United Kingdom, France, and other European jurisdictions where it believes corrupt officials have been hiding public funds. Some of the countries where looted funds from Nigeria have also been kept in the past include Liechtenstein and Luxembourg and even Switzerland, the United Kingdom and the United States which the president is currently looking into. France, Germany and British Virgin Islands have also served as places corrupt politicians hide Nigeria’s looted money in the past.

Death Row Convict Allegedly Tips Warden 50,000 Naira to escape From Prison

A convict on death row, simply identified as Wale, has allegedly escaped from the Kirikiri Maximum Prison after purportedly bribing a Nigerian Prisons Service (NPS) warden with the sum of N50, 000.
Wale, a murder convict was sentenced to death for killing his friend and burying him to avoid detection. He had also buried his victim’s car.
