The body of Nigerian super rich person, Chief Antonio Dehinde Fernadez have been laid to rest. That happened yesterday, eighteenth September in Brussels and in participation were the late billonaire’s youngsters, relatives and companions including Chief Dele Momodu and Pastor Tunde Bakare. Dogara Urges Nigerians To Forgive Boko Haram Members


The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon Yakubu Dogara, has called on Nigerian Christian community, particularly those in North East states to forgive members of the Boko Haram Islamist sect.

He stressed that the country could only make meaningful development when Nigerians begin to forgive one another. He noted that although people’s sources of livelihood and churches were destroyed during the fiery days of the insurgents, the Christian community should, in line with the teachings of Jesus Christ, forgive and look forward to better times.

West Signals U-Turn Over Syria, Seeks Dialogue With Russia


The former president of France, Nicolas Sarkozy, has called for dialogue with Russia in an effort to support the government of Syria to defend itself against ISIL, following a similar call from the White House in what is seen as a U-turn by the West.

EFCC Declares MD Of Saraki's Company Wanted.


Kennedy Izuagbe, a former director of Societe Generale Bank Nigeria Plc and managing director of Carlisle Properties and Investment Limited, a company owned by Bukola Saraki, has been declared wanted by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
According to Wilson Uwujaren, EFCC spokesman, Izuagbe (45) who is being investigated in a case of conspiracy and money laundering to the tune of over N3.6 billion, has gone into hiding and all efforts to reach him have proved abortive.

5 more states receive FG’s bail out funds


The Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, yesterday said that five more states got its bail-out funds meant to alleviate the financial challenges faced by the second tier of government, in order to pay off outstanding salary arrears of their workers. The Director of Corporate Communications of CBN, Alhaji Ibrahim Muazu, said in Abuja that the states that received the funds were Ebonyi, Ekiti, Imo, Ogun and Oyo. In a statement, CBN said in order for a state to receive bail out funds, it must submit a resolution of the State Executive Council, SEC, authorizing the borrowing. It must also obtain an approval of the states House of Assembly consenting to it and issue an Irrevocable Standing Payment Order, ISPO, to enable CBN deduct at source when its allocations become available. These 5 states now join 10 states (Kwara, Osun, Zamfara, Niger, Bauchi, Gombe, Abia, Adamawa, Ondo and Kebbi) that had previously received bailouts from the Govt.

Army authorities send back pardoned soldiers to fight Boko Haram


The Nigerian Army has deployed 3,032 soldiers that were pardoned to fight Boko Haram insurgents.
These 3,032 soldiers are among the 5,000 dismissed soldiers who were sentenced to death for disobeying a direct order by their commandant to fight Boko Haram insurgents.

It's been reported that on Thursday, the soldiers had been sent to the 7 Division of the Nigerian Army, Maiduguri, following the completion of a two-week reorientation training programme organised for them at the Nigerian Army Training Centre, Kontagora, Niger State.

Buhari cancels visit to Cross River for groundbreaking of 260km highway


According to a NAN report, the proposed visit of President Buhari to Cross River State for the groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of a 260km superhighway has been cancelled. A statement by Christian Ita, the Chief Press Secretary to Governor Ben Ayade of Cross River, on Thursday, confirmed the cancellation.

It stated that the decision to postpone the ceremony was communicated to the governor in a letter signed by the Chief of Staff to the President, Abba Kyari.

Coup in Burkina Faso: As Military Overthrows Civilian Government Detains Prime Minister, Arrest Several Ministers


Members of Burkina Faso’s Presidential Guard on Thursday announced the dissolution of the government on national television, saying President Michel Kafando had been ousted.
A military official said on state-run media in Ouagadougou that they had put in place a national democracy council charged with organizing democratic and inclusive elections.

Lagos Government To Buy New Helicopter


Governor Akinwunmi Ambode of Lagos State is planning to buy a new helicopter for the state.

Lagos State currently has two Bell 412 helicopters, with each costing $6.7m (N1.319bn), according to aircraftcompare.com estimates.

The purchase of the new helicopter and other security gadget was pegged at N5.3bn in the budget re-ordering letter sent to the House of Assembly for approval.

The Assembly on Tuesday had set up a committee to review the request and report back to the House in a week’s time.

Pastor Robbed Widow During Husband's Funeral In Akwa Ibom

A man of God has been nabbed fore robbing a widow during her husband's funeral.


Overseer of City of Reality Christian Centre, located at Ediene Ikot Obio Imo in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, has been arrested after he was manipulated in robbing a woman whose husband had just been buried, of cash amounting to over N600,000, two cell phones, a cheque book and ATM card belonging to the deceased, and a briefcase containing the late deceased documents, which was handed over to the
woman’s son for safe keeping..

It was gathered that the pastor who hails from Enen Atai, Itu Local Government Area, had attended the burial held at Ituk Mbag in Uruan Local Government Area of the state uninvited, but as man of God, he was welcomed by the family of the late man, not knowing he had come with another mission; to steal and to rob.

While at the funeral, Apostle Etim, a father of one, carefully monitored the widow as she received sympathizers as they gave her one gift or the other and at the end of the day, he swooped in and stole the bag that contained the money and the other items.

It was learnt that after stealing the bag, the pastor immediately used the stolen cash to acquire a land in Uyo, emptied the account of the late man with the ATM card and handed over the dead man's phones to his wife while keeping the other belonging to the woman, for himself.

But nemesis was to soon catch up with the criminal pastor as he was tracked down by the Department of State Services (DSS), through the stolen phones and was arrested while conducting a church service at his church.

During interrogation, Apostle Etim admitted to his crime, blaming the devil for his actions.
“Please don’t send me to jail. The devil is trying to rubbish my ministry. Please do not involve my wife in this, she is innocent.
I did not tell her where I got the phone from. I don’t want our child to grow up without a father, please have mercy upon me,” he pleaded with the police.

He also promised to return the plot of land he bought with the stolen money to the widow as well as refund all the money he siphoned from his victim's bank account.

Indian National Arrested In Lagos Over Visa Scam

The Nigeria Police have arrested a Dubai-based Indian national, Mr Mohammed Shazul, for allegedly procuring a Dubai visa using a Nigerian man’s name without his consent.

Sources close to Federal Criminal Intelligence Investigation Department (FCIID) Annex, Alagbon Close, Lagos, made the disclosure to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Thursday.

6 Nigerians Among Crane Crash Victims


JEDDAH: Six Nigerian pilgrims were among the 111 victims of Friday’s crane crash at the Grand Mosque in Makkah.
“We lost six pilgrims — two males and four females,” Uba Mana, a spokesman for the National Haj Commission of Nigeria, told AFP on Monday. “We can’t say this is the final death toll because the situation is still unfolding. We are still visiting the hospitals and mortuaries in search of more casualties from Nigeria,” he said.
Mana said some 58,000 Nigerians were already in the Kingdom for the Haj out of 76,000 expected for this year’s pilgrimage.

OPC Condemns Killing Of DSS Operatives By Pipeline Vandals
